What is IEPF?

  • Investors education and protection fund also known as IEPF is an initiative by the central government which allows the government to claim the shares which are lost or unclaimed by the owner .

  • All shares of the Company in respect of which dividends have remained unclaimed or are not cashed for seven consecutive years or more, are required to be transferred by the Company to the Investor Education and Protection Fund ('IEPF') established by the Government of India.

  • If you had owned some physical shares a long time ago or your parents had own and you have lost them or haven't deposited the dividend for more than 7 years then your shares get transferred to IEPF
